Senado Square in Macau Tour Guide:
One of the largest and most picturesque squares in Macau, the Senado Square is popular with visitors and locals alike for its amazing atmosphere. Lined with Portugal-era buildings with western influences and several churches and paved with colourful mosaics, this is the place to be at if you want to get a sense of Macau in general and its people.
Walk with the crowds; shop till you drop at the fantastic boutiques and many souvenir shops; fancy a bite, head to one of the many restaurants lining the venue; settle down on one of the benches by the fountain and watch the world go by.
Take photographs and tour the perfectly preserved neo-classical architecture, which stands side-by-side with contemporary leaders in retail brands including Starbucks. Get a sneak-peek into the powerhouse where once the Portuguese and now the Chinese planned Macau’s governance with a visit to Leal Senado. Tour the St. Dominic’s Church and browse through its museum for a glimpse of its sacral artefacts from Macau as well as Portugal.
Going further on, you can see the Ruins of St. Paul’s Church in the distance.
